While there’s no information on whether or not there’ll be any spec-related changes, there does seem to be some design-related differences (especially if you look at the back). Sadly, there are no details on exactly when the launch will happen, and what price tag the Galaxy Halo will carry.

The Galaxy J7 (2017) was made official earlier this month, and from what we know, it should launch in July for €340.

Apple Seeks ‘Siri Event Maven’ to Keep the Assistant Up-to-Date on Culture

HIGHLIGHTS
Apple is looking to hire human assistant, to be named as Siri Event Maven
It will help Siri assistant stay updated on the non-traditional holidays
It will also scan social media to inform Siri about them
Apple is looking to hire a person to help its Siri assistant stay updated on all the non-traditional holidays, trending cultural happenings, and events that people might ask about.

The human assistant, to be named as the “Siri Event Maven,” will work with the engineers and designers working on Siri “to provide strategic awareness of cultural happenings in the collective zeitgeist,” Apple was quoted as saying to 9to5mac.com, on Tuesday.

“We’re looking for someone to help us keep Siri up to date on all the various events happening around the world,” according to the job description posted by Apple.Apple Seeks 'Siri Event Maven' to Keep the Assistant Up-to-Date on Culture

The human assistant would join the Siri team to “scour” social media for trends and happenings that Apple’s voice assistant doesn’t know about.
The role will also work with its analytics team to “understand current behaviour” and “identify events we may have missed,” Apple noted.

Although Apple’s Siri popularised voice assistants when it was first released on the iPhone in 2011, it has since lagged behind competitors like Google Assitant, and continues to face competition from new rivals like Amazon’s Alexa and Samsung’s Bixby Voice software.

But, with Apple looking to launch its new HomePod speaker – its first standalone Siri device – the iPhone maker wants Siri to be more up to date on pop culture and events, as it will bring the personal assistant into the living room.

HP Spectre x2 review: It beats the Surface Pro on value, if not performance

Our review of HP’s Spectre x2 12.3-inch 2-in-1 tablet begins with a simple question: Can HP continue its tradition of being an elegant, yet durable alternative to Microsoft’s Surface Pro flagship?

The answer is Yes. HP took the best bits from its Elite x2 tablet and the first-generation Spectre x2 tablet (2015), then updated the new Spectre x2 with the latest Kaby Lake chips. The Spectre x2 gives you more features for the money than the Surface Pro: Our $1,300 review unit included both the keyboard and the stylus right in the box (hear that, Microsoft?). It’s a shame this solid value is let down by middling battery life and a pesky fan.

IIT-Bombay students go on indefinite hunger strike against fee hike

Around 150 students of the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B) were on a relay hunger strike today to protest a hike in fees. The agitation began yesterday with a march on the campus. The latest fee hike comes a year after undergraduate tuition fees more than doubled across the IITs.

While tuition fees has not been hiked, there is an increase of 300 per cent in hostel rent, 167 per cent in the gymkhana fees, 100 per cent in exam, registration and medical fees, and 30-50 per cent increase in other charges.

“The students met the director yesterday. The board will meet once again to review the hikes and come to an understanding. They have to be patient,” an IIT-B spokesperson told PTI.IIT-Bombay, IIT bombay fee hike, IIT bombay students, IIT-B protests, iit b fee hike protest,

“These fees have not been revised for over 20 years, and to maintain top class facilities this has to be considered,” the spokesperson said.

IIT-B director Devang Khakhar was unavailable for comments. This is the second protest on the campus after the fee hike was announced in May.

For nearly two months, the students of IIT-Bombay have been coming together on the campus demanding rollback of the fees hike, which they have called “undemocratic” and “non-transparent”, while claiming that no elected student body was consulted on the matter.

They have formed a collective, called Students Against Fee Hike, IIT-B, and sent emails and submitted representations to the administration. The students, who have one more week to comply and pay the fees, have now intensified the protest. The final decision on fee reconsideration will be taken in the institute’s next board meeting scheduled in August.
